Airbus for the Air Force?
A good friend of mine passed along this tip yesterday, and our Pentagon Bureau did a fantastic job getting the info out first and fast to Fox News Channel and the new Fox Business Net.
Everytime I am lucky enough to get a tip like this, I am reminded about a few people who have touched my life and their insistence that networking and keeping friendships is the most important thing in life, next to family and your religion of course.
I can still remember one professor who said it will shape your personal and professional life.
It’s what’s so great about the internet and e-mail — I have known this friend for years, but had not seen him in ten. We stay in touch and he passed along this….still, hasn’t spread across many news outlets.
The U.S. military is looking at the Airbus A380 as a possible replacement for Air Force One and the C-5 cargo plane. By the way, the Airbus A380 jumbo jet is billions over budget and years behind schedule. Traditionally, Lockheed has run the C-5 program, but maybe the Air Force decided to look around for other offers and ideas outside the United States.
I was told there have been two separate inquiries by the USAF’s Air Mobility Command about the A380.
By the way, it is a a double-decker jet.

Hmmmmm… That is very interesting! Airbus established an engineering center in Mobile, AL that opened at the first of the year all in an effort to win a very large military contract.
Check out this article which has more information:

Great work Adam!
Charlie
I don’t think we should be having another country build our military planes or our Pres. plane. How long does it take to build a plane like that? It hasn’t been many years since we got a new AF1.
You’re right, the AB 380 is way over budget and behind schedule. They’ve lost several airline orders because of this. So it could be that instead of the Pentagon looking at Airbus, that Airbus is looking at the Pentagon.
Hi Adam!
You are so right! Networking is extremely important in any career, or even just in life!
Like the old cliches’ “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know” and “Never burn your bridges”
Huge Fox Fan!
Wow Adam… this is great information! Thanks for passing it along to us! You’re right about keeping friendship and networking.
I think F & F had the picture of this morning, it looks Huge.
Adam that is great advice, a friend of mine once told me on your dying day you will not worried about the earthly things, but the greatest desire you will have is to see the faces of loved ones.
I have never forgotten it.

I heard a report that said, in part, that some of our commercial aircrat are being serviced overseas. There are supposed to be security measures in placed for the people that actually work on fixing our planes. But the other people that work at these companies do not go through background checks. I thought that was frightening
Now this is one time I should have been a man-
I know nothing about airplanes except I have to have the window seat!
Oh- and I live by Luke Air Force Base- and they are noisy as they fly over-
I love your philosophy- it is so true-
There you go Adam- having me research-
Nearly two years late, Airbus finally delivered its first A380 superjumbo on Monday, a revolutionary behemoth that includes luxury suites equipped with comfy double beds.
Now this is what you and Greta need when you are flying around- the double beds- to catch up on the lack of sleep-
