London Calling
I have to say, Americans get a bad wrap. We have seen our share that have come across the pond and we have yet to see the rude, annoying people portrayed by Hollywood. In fact, most Americans have been very friendly, whether we’re speaking to them or just observing. I cannot say the same for those from other countries and I will not be mentioning them in this forum. I will however report what I have always felt. The great majority of the time Americans are welcoming. Of course, I am biased. Our British friends have been nothing short of fantastic. When we dared venture to one of the biggest football (soccer) games in recent memory, Chelsea versus Arsenal, we were embraced and my four year-old nephew was a hit. We apparently are now “a part of the Chelsea nation and family, even if you do live across the pond.” Here are my first pics from London, notice the police officers dressed in bright yellow and lining the rows to separate the fans from the two sides at the game. By the way Chelsea won 2-1. Great game.

The only things i hadn’t seen in person was the snow this week, or a soccer game.
Did you go on the london Eye?
Those are some beautiful buildings! Dang… what architecture (did I spell that right?)
Anyhoo….
wow..
I hear it’s AWFUL EXPENSIVE to go over there right now!! Yikes.
Terri: Gothic Architecture.
Yes it is, our prices are normally higher anyway because of the higher taxes, but £1 is about $2 now, so it’s even more expensive for you guys.
Adam ~ Great pictures! It makes me miss England!
Great pictures
I don’t think I could do the driving on the wrong side of the road and the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car thing… I’m sure I’d cause an accident.
I only know one ‘Brit’ — if he is indicative of all the Brits then yeah - they are ‘fantastic’!
)
(here’s winking at you Max
Adam–
great pictures-
and there is the ferris wheel your mom thought it was on the Northern Ireland thread- and she mentioned how the whole family is in Europe– HOW FUN IS THIS!!!
Jen– I had a boyfriend in highschool who was from England- Brian- he was cute!
and then my best friend as a senior was also from England- Michael Conrad Moquette– He and I use to get into trouble all the time– we were like Mutt and Jeff- he was so tall and I am short- We also got biggest flirts in our year book picks– I will have to show you my highschool pictures- you will laugh–
I must have had a thing about tardiness because in my yearbook I wrote– I, Susan Hanson, do
)
hereby bequeath my ability to skip school and be tardy to Daisy Perahía…. (Daisy must have been a good girl so I wrote that to her.
Becky– speaking of Hawaii- I saw this and thought of you-

Adam–
I have a question– and don’t ask why– but this is a serious question–
Your condo- do you have an office there? What colors are in your office? - You will find out later down the road–
And/or- You do have an office to which you go to in California? Your own office?
I will keep asking until you answer–
Thank you!
Chuck Denton:
I am looking for you– Please peek in-
Susan
The link I posted which went through, please click on the slide show- up on the right–
awesome pictures– except I need Max to be the guide–
Becky- you will get homesick!
Becky–
I clicked on your name again– You have been to Switzerland– and I believe it is Kathy frm Texas who loves Jane Austen too!
xxx
This is so much fun- just chatting away to me–
I bet LDG knows the whole history behind Kensington Palace– From day one-
This is Adam’s last week of playtime–
Adam- you have to take care of Karen 2– her special greeting from guessing where you were going to — I have to remind you as you might forget–
Signed,
Your weary Personal Assistant
John–
thanks for the Maryland answer–
K2– I read the Chavez link on the other thread and left a post there– Well- maybe we should just ask Chavez who HE wants for President aside from Bill Clinton–
LDG–
I was on Robert’s thread and I read your links on Basra and Baghdad but then I got side tracked with Andrew Cochran’s article he wrote on March 24th- enclosed with the transcript from the meeting– You did read the transcript? This is powerful information–
I went to counterterrorism to see if there was anythig on Basra and I found the article from Cochran.
and thanks for those other links– I left you a few posts there–
xxxxx
Adam–
Thank you for your vacation updates and for sharing your pictures!
Susan ~ Thanks for the link to the article! I can’t imagine living on top of the lava flows from the volcano.
I am going to check out your link to Kensington Palace today.
Adam - again…GREAT pictures! Are you visiting with the Queen while you are there?
G’morining Friends-
This is a reminder to watch the Dog Whisperer this Friday- National Geographic channel - check your local listing for times. Friends of mine will be featured on that show with their Wirehaired Fox Terrier.
Coincidentally, Bill O’R had the dog whisperer on his show last night - so this is not off topic - kind of Fox related. LOL
http://www.cesarmillaninc.com/dogwhisperer/sneakpeeks.php
Sunshine,
Yes adam is visiting “the queen” while he is there, but its not the one you are thinking of, after adam broke out of the exotic dancing industry (thanks to tamera) he tried to cut all ties, but he had many good friends there and he has kept in contact with a few. One of his good friends from the industry and a former dancing partner (they used to do this really classy routine with top hats, bow ties, and not much else) While adam made his break from the seedy world of “male exotic dancers” his friend butch fell on hard times and was forced to take whatever work he could find, he ended up finding work as a baritone in an “all girl” quartet, he now can be found dancing at a club called “the queen”
adam, always thoughtful, never forgets to visit when he is in town.
Derek - not sure where to start with that one. hmmmmmmm Did you have a double espresso this morning? lol
Derek ~ that’s hilarious!
Jen S: Do you mean Brit Hume? He is pretty cool.
If Adam had more time in Notting Hill i would have showed him a bar where the Clintons visited a few years ago.
The photos are by the restroom doors, which i think is fitting.
Susan: click on the numbers, it says where each of the places are
http://www.travellondon.com/templates/attractions/gallery1.html
you can see here. But they seem to have squashed the photos a little.
The only one i don’t think i’ve been to are: Abby Road; London Dungeon; Hampton Court Palace; all the last page apart from Oxford. So that’s only 12 places in the gallery i’ve not seen.
sunshine, double espresso? no
caffeine IV drip? always.
HI everyone!!!!!!!!
Sending hugs!
I left this comment on another thread
We loved London & England. We were
there last year-they were fantastic people,
friendly, helpful, etc. We stayed next door
to Kensington Palace (absolutely beautiful,
inside & out) and went to Maggie Jones in
Notting Hill for dinner-again great atmosphere,
people & food.
Can’t say enough about where Max lives-lucky
guy!
We ended our trip in Barcelona-almost the exact
opposite. I would never go back, very rude people
Hey Adam:
Great pictures!
Looking forward to you coming home!
Great memories
Mom Housley: I think this is a nice place to visit, rather than to live, it’s just too crowded for me.
Hey adams mom-
good morning
ALL - just posted a new photo video under my name. Beach photos! Check ‘em out! The sunshine is shining in FL today and it’s beautiful! A great day to post this pics.
This weekend = HOT = SYRIAN ARAB SUMMIT= NO ONE BIG GOING= syria looking stupid….

alright FL…im jealous! quit that! *L*
Patty - did you see the pictures?
Susan???
how’s the weather where you are? Is it Kansas? Forgive me for still not remembering but Susan hasn’t made a map yet that we can reference to know where everyone lives.
I know that this is better suited in the previous post by Robert, but I felt it examplifies what some of us were discussing yesterday regarding not forgetting the war and the sacrifices that our men and women in uniform ( and their families ) are still enduring…………..
http://www.wusa9.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=70016
FL Sunshine — looks like you’re having fun in the sun!!! Enjoy.
Great shots, Adam. Hi everyone, and she’s off and running!
John - I watched the video clip. Very moving! Thank you for posting that!
lest we not forget….
Sunshine - Great photos. I am so jealous……so nice and warm. Sun is shining here - snow is melting - but going to Mexico soon……. will be at the beach and pool!
Yes John, thanks for sharing that link.
FL…yes i saw them. yes it is KS and it is dreary, dark and gloomy!
48 degrees, and rain forcasted off and on through sunday. yee haw!
but your pic are gorgeous! thanks!
K2 - driving there? I have a relative who lives in San Diego. We have been out there twice to visit and it’s a beautiful area! We also drove down into Mexico each visit. So different for us to see rocky cliffs along the coast.
Breathtaking!
FL Sunshine–
great pictures– your big toe is very pretty and I love the friends you meet on the beach– Your kids are so cute– handsome hubbie– and we don’t have beaches here so you have one thing we don’t have–
Map– I will make a map– I can’t do it right now– My daugher is coming over in a bit so I should clean me up– I am taking her to the Wildlife Zoo– She hasn’t seen it yet- it is about ten miles from here and we want to check out Luke Air Force Base- it is on the way- I doubt they will let us in-
You all have a great day– came in to see if Adam has answered my question–
Mrs. Housley:
I heard people are rude in Spain- a friend of mine was just there last year and she loved Spain but she said the people are rude there- And it is so expensive there–
Could you help us out here? What colors does Adam decorate with? For example– If he were to buy a painting, what color would the frame be?
Why? You will find out too in time–
——————————————————————————————————
As LDG would say– waving good-bye-
xxxxxx
Max–
oh thank you– I like Shakespeare Globe– -
XXXX
why can i see Marta (Susan) waving good bye…singing…”So long, farewell, auf weidersehen, good-bye”
ok …ya ya Im a movie buff! *L*
eeer Derek? ..go back to the Robert thread!
Derek - how’s the iv drip? running low or did you change bags at lunch time? lol
Susan: I’ve never been inside the globe, but i’ve sat outside it a few times, and walked past more times than i know, the monday before last i walked right past it carrying bags of German food
Patty–
yup Derek went back to Robert’s thread– and I just had to pull away from there too- I started reading about headhunters and some of LDG’s links he posted yesterday– and now I am sitting here writing–
Max– you must live close by the Globe– by the way- my Polish mom and Ken’s Polish mom love pickled pig’s feet– (from the Robert’s thread) —-
now for real good-bye as Patty sings from The Sound of Music-
xxxxxxx
Doe, a deer, a female deer.
Ray, a drop of golden sun.
Me, a name I call myself.
Far, a long, long way to run.
Sew, a needle pulling thread,
La, a note to follow sew,
Tea, a drink with jam and bread!
That will bring us back to do oh-oh-oh!
Susan: Not too close, but normally when i’ve been to the hospital i will walk most of the way back (it’s 3 hours door to door). But we normally walk along the river most of the way, so we either walk right past the globe, or see it from the other side of the river.
Susan - you just can’t walk away can you? lol
GO!
*L* btw…you REALLY don’t want patty to sing! ha ha
come on Patty….make a u tube video for us!
We promise to help getting voted one of the top 10.
Let’s have a Housley’s Idol contest…………
A Housley’s Idol contest…now that would be interesting!
More like scary! Especially if you included me!
Hey, can I be Paula? lol actually, the more I watch that show the more I get to thinking she’s a bit annoying. lol As my 11 year old noticed….she always says the same thing….”you are so good, that was the best I’ve heard, you will make it big somewhere, people will remember you, blah, blah, blah
oh, and I must add….what was up with those gloves last night? can someone please tell me? I think that was from the 80’s. lol and that hair piece? she’s like Dolly Parton with a different wig every night. but she is very nice. hee hee
FL Sunshine…….you sure can. I’ve never watched the show ( and never will ), but I think since the initials for the Housley’s Idol contest are HI, I think a round trip to Hawaii would be an appropriate prize………….As a matter of fact, if I win, you can just give me a couple of one-way tickets……..I don’t plan returning.
*LMAO*
Housley Idol……..oh gawd, this cant be good!
FL…NO to your request, absolutely NO. I dont drink anymore and for that, i would have to be totally snockered! *L*
and paula’s gloves….well she is from the 80’s! she must have cleaned out a closet!
and you be paula? can you keep your clothes on? *LOL*
just kidding!!!
The space shuttle Endeavour is returning home tonight around 7pm. I will probably lose track of time and get a good scare with the twin sonic booms as it approaches for landing.
Just curious…does anyone outside of Central FL follow the space program? I kind of figure no one really cares. ???
Patty…it’s not hot enough here yet for that. LOL
FL…there is a guy here i work with that is always on the nasa webpage and others, he follows it.
I only see what the news chooses to show.
Fl Sunshine………Follow? No……..But, I do like to like to watch every launch on TV. When I lived in Daytona I followed it much closer. I actually watched the very first Space Shuttle launch from the beach……..quite a sight. After that I followed it more out of necessity than curiousity. Since I was flying in that region on a daily basis, it was always nice to know if a multi-ton bottle rocket was about to fly up your @ss…………
And i guess Idol isnt a far venture from the subject….afterall Simon is british! ha
FL ~ I was wondering what was up with Paula’s gloves last night as well. Definitely an 80’s thing!
John ~ A trip to Hawaii would be a great prize!
John - remember…I’m somewhat new still….I take it you were/are a pilot. ???
Not an idol fan…
but I loves me some DWTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love it love it!
I love Jason Taylor and Edyta…. and Kristi Yamaguchi .. that little Derek is as cute as a bugs ear…
Fl Sunshine……..sorry, I forgot you still qualify as a “rookie”. I was a flight instructor at ERAU ( Embry-Riddle ) and flew charters in the SE in the early to mid-’80’s. Then later here from the Mid-Atlantic region. Now I mainly “fly” a desk, but still do some charter flying on weekends.
so john…if i deliver my hubby…can you cure him of his fear of flying? *LOL*
I’m afraid to fly too…
but when I was in Alaska… we used to fy around in “float planes” and THAT was a blast!!!
like mother, like daughter– Danielle is running behind-
here is the map-

Patty…….or increase his fears, if you so desire. Flying straight and level gets boring after a while. There’s nothing like flying along inverted………looking “up” at mother earth.
Good morning everyone!!!!!
FL Sunshine - Loved your video - We spent Easter week at our place on the beach, love the beautiful ocean sounds, and everything about the beach. One of our favorite places to run away to.
KC — Carrie-
I have been looking for you– We here have a project going and you two would be perfect for this idea of ours–
my email address is in here
so then I can share with you the project and see if you two would like to be a part of this– I don’t want to elaborate or someone might just figure it out–

WOOW HOUSLEY IDOL???
HAHAA
John…ohhhhh he’d puke! *L*
I’ve decided there just isnt enough valium to get him back on a plane. So…we stay home.
Susan…that is cool!!! Thanks for doing that!!
Patty–
Tiamat–
I forgot her– she lives in Washington but she hasn’t been around lately– and I don’t know where Retread lives–
Daughter just got here– Tomasa is barking–
bye!!!!
And I saw yours and Max’s post about Terri/Rod– LOOKS LIKE I WAS THE ONE SKIMMING!!!
(terri- Adam sent you his best wishes to you and to Rod also, and I was wondering why– Rod was sick and Magoo is having to have some more doctor visits)
susan…
have fun!
Susan: You forgot Tammy, i’m not sure where she went, but she was married to Retread, and they lived in south dakota.
speaking of rod….where is he? I haven’t seen him around, is he OK?
Derek: in the thread about me Sunshine says that she emailed him, and he’s not been well.
Off subject….
gotta love the reasoning!
http://www.star-telegram.com/189/story/547378.html
Thank you Adam and to everyone who is wishing us luck w/ Magoo’s upcoming ECHO!
Will be sure to let you all know what’s up when it’s over!
Keeping my fingers crossed.
