Passing the Point

He once ran 121 marathons in a row. It’s true that Tom Jones (not the singer) has overcome many an obstacle, but now he has undertaken yet another. The man who ran across the country and has also run the state of California a couple of times to raise money for troubled kids, is now taking on the California coastline. To raise awarness about our environment and the danger plastics pose, Tom is paddling the length of the entire state. He’s about two-thirds done and has some incredible stories to tell.

I met him a few months back to ask him about the upcoming trip, he was excited, dedicated and sure that he would finish the challenge. His efforts are all meant to raise our awareness and he does this entirely through donations. We brought him on Fox and Friends for a live interview before he began todays stage and he spoke of dolphins whales and of course plastic in all forms floating in Pacific waters.

Tom has all sorts of events planned as he arrives in the southern part of the state in places like Malibu and San Diego. The public is always invited to take part and he loves to tell his story.
